Quilt Drive / Meet the Quilters Tea Party
For the one year anniversary, a number of quilts were donated and raffled off to survivors and victims’ families, and the quilts were so popular, the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center has brought the idea back for 2019.
1 October survivors and victims’ families are invited to enter this raffle to win one of the available quilts, graciously donated and handmade by a variety of quilting guilds and individuals in Nevada and around the country.
Additionally, for those who enter the raffle and would like a chance to meet the quilters before the raffle winners are selected, the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center is hosting a “Meet the Quilters” tea party event on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 2-4 p.m. at our primary address, 1524 Pinto Ln. 2nd Floor Las Vegas, NV 89106.
1 October Anniversary Wellness Event: Oct. 1, 2019, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Immediately following the County Sunrise Remembrance Ceremony, groups with missions that focus on varying kinds of wellness—physical, mental, financial, and more—will be present to provide information to survivors and community members during the 1 October Anniversary Wellness Event on October 1, 2019 at the Clark County Government Center.
The Las Vegas community was shaken to its core on Oct. 1, 2017, but the outpouring of support following the event was astonishing. Now, with a chance to help survivors and community members continue to heal from the event, we’re taking the message of resiliency to the forefront with a focus on wellness.
Survivors, victims’ family members, first responders and community members affected by 1 October are welcome to visit this event any time between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
