Moving Beyond Route 91 (Summer 2023)
Join other survivors on a journey towards happiness in the esteemed program that the Route 91 family has been utilizing for years. For the first time, this no-cost program will be available online with John Polish of the Unstuck Foundation while simultaneously facilitated in-person with Terri Keener at the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center. Over the course of five Tuesdays, you’ll participate in two-hour weekly sessions that will equip you with the necessary tools to find joy in life once more.
During these sessions, you’ll listen to insightful discussions on trauma recovery and engage in small group activities. There will also be time for personal reflection and group discussions, allowing you to connect with others who’ve shared similar experiences from October 1, 2017, and beyond.
You’ll have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained to your own circumstances and create a personalized plan for ongoing personal growth. To support your progress, you’ll receive a workbook that serves as a helpful reference during presentations and activities.
Educational portions of each session are recorded and participants can view makeup sessions or review them upon request. Upon completion of the program, there will be monthly meetings for follow-up, ongoing connections, and continued application of skills and information learned.
Please note that the Moving Beyond program requires a commitment of five weeks. We strongly encourage attending all sessions, but if you need to miss a week, we’ll provide makeup content to keep you on track.
About the presenters
After losing his mother and his daughter seven months apart, followed by a divorce, John began to apply his knowledge of happiness to help himself. He formed the Unstuck Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, in 2017 with the mission to help others who’ve have faced tremendous adversity create a new normal for their lives and find joy again. He’s held various in-person and online workshops for survivors of trauma and hosts the Unstuck and Happy Podcast.
Terri’s been working with those affected by trauma for over 25 years in various public settings, including community mental health, education, juvenile justice, and child welfare. In private practice, she works primarily with first responders, veterans/active duty military, and victims of violent crime. Before transitioning to full-time private practice, she was the Behavioral Health Coordinator for the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center, serving those affected by the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting.
