Project COMMON BOND Teen Retreat

This winter, Project COMMON BOND is heading south for a Texas Dude Ranch experience with fun activities from horseback riding to hayrides and barbecue! Join them for a three-day experience at the Mayan Dude Ranch in Bandera, Texas.

You will meet with young people between the ages of 15 and 20 who have experienced trauma or loss due to military conflict, terrorism, or mass violence. There will be opportunities to engage in fun activities, connect with your peers, make new friends and share your story if you choose from your perspective. You will become part of a community to understand different perspectives around diversity and inclusion, and to explore the practices that can help you become a peace builder or leader.

Each day will consist of a balance of meeting in facilitated small groups to share ideas and learn new perspectives, as well as enjoying ranch activities. It will be a great opportunity to meet and bond with friends. learn new skills, and have fun.

Typical Day:

  • Ranch-style breakfast all together
  • Meet in small groups to get to know one another and share ideas
  • Lunch
  • Get outside and choose from different ranch activities
  • Meet back for small groups on various topics
  • Dinner
  • Evening fun activities

The winter session is open to new and past participants. For newcomers, they hope this will serve as an introduction to Project COMMON BOND and that you will want to join the week-long summer session too.
