Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training

The free, virtual Route 91 Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training is specifically designed for participants who have an association with the Route 91 tragedy, no matter where they’re currently living. There will be a focus on supporting survivors in mental health and suicide prevention efforts. In the field of suicide prevention, a “Gatekeeper” is someone in a position to recognize a crisis and the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Distinguish suicide myths from suicide facts
  • Recognize warning signs and symptoms
  • Identify protective factors
  • Increase ability and willingness to intervene
  • Identify referral resources
  • Classify postvention activities as prevention efforts

Fees: There are no fees associated with this training.

CE Credit: The Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention offers CEUs for this 2.5-hour workshop at 2.0 credits. Participants receive a certificate of completion to apply to their individual professional board for continuing education credits.
