#UvaldeStrong: In-Person Trauma Recovery Yoga

If you’re feeling the impact of the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, and other recent incidents of mass violence, please join us for a special support session with Joyce Bosen and Brenda Blanco of Trauma Recovery Yoga (TRY). Their organization offered free classes across the Las Vegas community for those affected by the Route 91 tragedy and was presented with a 2017 Compassionate City Award by the mayor of Las Vegas. They have offered this free, in-person TRY session for anyone in need of some support. It is easily adapted for all levels, ages, and capabilities, and can help with insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, hypervigilance, flashbacks, and other effects of trauma being held in the body.

Feel free to register for this or other events we’re hosting and be sure to take extra personal care of yourselves during this time. Remember to use any of the healthy coping techniques that have helped you in the past. Reach out to others who can support you. Limit your exposure to media coverage, focusing on factual and reliable sources.

The Resiliency Center staff is available 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT to listen, support, and assist you in finding services if needed. For 24/7 support, you may call or text the Disaster Distress Helpline at 1-800-985-5330 to connect with a trained crisis counselor. Visit resiliencyandjustice.org/trauma-coping-tips for strategies that can help you deal with distressing thoughts.
