Victim-Centered Mass Violence Response Efforts

This pre-conference seminar for Leave No Victim Behind VII serves as an introduction for collaboration between law enforcement, emergency management, and victim services.

Michigan State University, Buffalo, and Uvalde are just a few places that have experienced a mass violence tragedy in recent times. These incidents have highlighted the need for multidisciplinary collaboration. While we hope these incidents never happen, ICPTTA (the Improving Community Preparedness to Assist Victims of Mass Violence and Domestic Terrorism: Training and Technical Assistance program) wants your community to be prepared if they do. Most law enforcement entities have plans to neutralize the threat, but are you ready for what comes next? Victims—surviving and deceased—and their families have a number of medical, financial, and emotional needs. A comprehensive, coordinated response effort demands the integration of law enforcement, emergency management, and victim services.
